Christmas 2011 Layout for I Am Roses

LOL ok ...we have ONE more holiday project for ya!!! Here I created an 8x8 layout using My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas paper my Aloha-BFF, Dayle sent me. This is the first year I have ever scrapped a Christmas Layout, I usually forget to take photos but this year I was determined to take one, this was taken at a friends house for their annual tamale Christmas party. We had lots of fun and my friend had decorated her fireplace just perfectly. I also HAD to use the gorgeous special big red gardenias Bunma had sent in a recent design team package.

Holiday Card for I Am Roses

Before I roll into Valentine's Day projects, I'll end the holiday crafting season with this card. I used the Teresa Collins Christmas Home paper and variety of I Am Roses flowers. I used one of the longer sprays and it looks fantastic, I accented the spray with an I Am Roses red mini rose (yep these are gonna be perfect for those Valentine's Day projects) and one of my favorite flowers, a white 2 inch R77. I also added a touch of color to the spray with olive green seam binding.

Birthday Anya II Cards for I Am Roses

I've been obsessed with the "Sweet Stack" by DCWV, I have been loving all things candy, cupcakes and glitter!!! This stack also goes well with the Greeting Farm Birthday Anya II stamp. I had tons of fun experimenting with the hair color and different ways to glitter the image.

I Am Roses 2011 December Color Challenge!

Super excited to be a part of one of the first I Am Roses challenges...and a challenge it was. If you are on my FaceBook you will know I broke my Sizzix Big Shot!!! Gasp!!! Totally my bad as I overloaded the thing. I never knew how much I relied on my Big Shot to create, now I do. I use it everytime a make something....so I was at a loss. I made this inspiration card without my Big Shot as the new one was still en route. I had to get creative fast, so I used a very cute and forgotten embellishment....a Tattered Angels frame!! Of course I loaded it with some gorgeous I Am Roses flowers!! So......

"Green" 12x12 Layout for I Am Roses

I loved the 12x12 shapes I cut out at my LSS using the Accucut. Super fun alternative to the regular square 12x12 paper. I am also still in love with corrugated cardboard and this time painted it with vintage white acrylic paint - I love the look the texture is fantastic. I also wanted to use these super beautiful green flowers that I recieved in a design team package a few months back. I love how the green in the pictures matches the green in the flowers. I love how this layout turned out and how the leaves really look like they could have been one of the leaves in the picture.

The Greeting Farm Blush Society Cards for I Am Roses

I finally got some time to dust off my copics and make some cards with my two new favorite stamps. For my projects today, I have created two cards using The Greeting Farm Blush Society stamps. These stamps are way too cute for words (minus the nostrils LOL which I decided not to stamp). My favorite part of cardmaking is choosing the embellishments, I enjoyed choosing the flowers I used today. I love the versatility of the rosebuds and I featured 3 different kinds of rosebuds today, I have also featured a mixed sizes set in blue. The mixed sizes sets come in handy because they all match but they come in different sizes which is great if you want to mix it up on a project!

I love the Tim Holtz dress form die and I can't get ENOUGH of it!!! It is super fun to play "dress-up" and embellish the die cut in may different ways. "Giving Thanks" Layout for I Am Roses

I had some leftover Teresa Collins "Giving Thanks" paper leftover from last years mini album. I do not normally work with oranges and browns but thought I'd challenge myself and pair it up with some orange and brown flowers Bunma had sent me. I love how this came together , I think it is still "me" but in a different color scheme! I featured a new long spray from I Am Roses - these long sprays make it so easy to arrange flowers on 12x12 layouts, just adhere and mix in some "loose" flowers around it - and voila instant flower fabulousness!

"Beautiful Layout" Featuring I Am Roses White Paper Flowers Spray

I am over the top happy that I get to join the I Am Roses Design Team for another term! Thank you Bunma, I cannot wait to create more projects with your over the top gorgeous flowers! I think with every project I make I get better and am more comfortable mixing it up and making these flowers my own.

With this project I decided to color the flowers using distress ink. For this layout I wanted an ocean color scheme and chose Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint - they go well together and it was fun to see how each flower came out different and unique. I also used the latest spray that I Am Roses carries - I love how this spray can stand on its own and how detailed it is - so perfect for those 12x12 layouts.

Just wanted to share my latest craze - ruffled party streamer with different Karlas001 trims, I love using the "Rina's Baaling" and flatback pearls.

I love making these because they can be customized to any project you are making - you can use different colors of crepe paper and mix and match the centers.

I Am Roses Project - "Love" Layout

I have had this fabulous Prima paper in my stash for a while, I remember how excited I was when it first came out. This paper also came with matching chipboard shapes with glitter detail - chipboard shapes are one of my favorite embellishments (next to flowers of course!).

It was time to break out this paper and create! With so many yummies in my stash it was hard to narrow down exactly what I would use in this layout. I accented the paper with my most favorite Karlas001 Etsy crystal leaves, tea dyed Prima lace, Prima Lovely burlap leaves in brown and a Prima Say It In Pearls center for the gardenia.

I also tried a new technique by coloring the stems of the flowers with Lindy Stamp Gang Dark Chocolate Truffle Stain. The stems come in green but for this layout I wanted to color all the stems a deep chocolate brown to match the layout more. The stems take on the color very well, I dipped them in the LSG container and also used a paintrbrush - super easy and I love the results.

Now for the flowers - LOTS to choose from but I narrowed it down to 9 different kinds!!! I wanted this to be a lush special layout so I pulled out my favorites!!!! Fellow design team member Bona (livelovescrap on YT, http://www.keeponscrappin.blogspot.com) had gifted me some Curly Roses...I have to say I LOVE them...they had a different texture and different shape which I love!!! I used THREE of them on this layout. I quickly ordered some Soft Pink and Baby Blue Curly Roses after I found out I loved them so much - can't wait to use them on future layouts.

I Am Roses - Teresa Collins Christmas Home Layout

So I'm in LOVE with the new Teresa Collins Christmas Home paper....decided to get a jump start on the holidays and start my Christmas projects NOW!!!! I had so much fun creating the Haunted Hallows layout that I decided to create another 12x12. 12x12's are challenging for me and I do not really do them, I decided to challenge myself and create a couple (...hope you follow my YouTube channel (scrapstress), because there are MORE to come!, hint hint)

I also wanted to use some non traditional Christmas flowers to accent my layout. I used Red, Black, White and Green flowers in different styles to match the colors in my layout. I LOVE the way this came out. I love this time of year because Christmas and Halloween layouts are the best, the new paper coming out is so LUSCIOUS, I almost feel like doing these themey projects all year round...WHY wait!!!

Pink Paislee Phantom Card

Just a quickie post today.

Wanted to play with a couple of new items in my stash, I'm head over heals over the Papertrey Ink Cardstock, it is really sturdy and can hold up to the many layers I like to use on my cards. Also wanted to try out the Papertrey Ink Boxy Banners Die - I am planning to make a Halloween banner with this die but for now just wanted to see how it cut out so I layered it on to this card. The paper is from Pink Paislee Phantom which uses some of the House of 3 artwork. I LOVE THIS PAPER. I also used the matching stamp set, which is fabulous Halloween Lusciousness to the MAX!!!! Michaels is carrying some fabulous Halloween ribbon so I threw that in too. With this card I wanted to create a super dimensional embellishment with one of my favorite stamps in the Phantom stamp set.

- Stamp on Patterned Paper (boxy banners die)
- Stamp again on white cardstock, cut out interior frame
- Stamp out again and cut out skull and put Ranger Crackle Accents on the skull
- Use dimensionals to layer all three peices together

Here's some close ups the skull looks REALLY COOL with the crackle accents...

I Am Roses Project - Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows Layout

Halloween is just around the corner (gasp!) and what better way to kick it off with a fun layout. I just ordered the new Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows collection and knew I HAD to use it right away. Traditional Halloween colors in super fun designs with a TC flair, I loved working with this paper and this project came together so easily. Note to self - USE PAPER YOU LOVE TO CREATE!

Also wanted to use a lot of the supplies that I had not gotten the opportunity to play with yet. I busted out some Tim Holtz Dies and Sizzlits along with a super fun My Favorite Things banner trio die and it was ON! Also, paired these with black glitter paper and voila!

I wanted to create a "scene" with the Rickety House die and Branch Tree die so I used some 1.25 inch black roses to create a bush area. Also, wanted to use some orange 0.75 inch flowers and black 0.25 inch to highlight one of the rosettes I created with the Tim Holtz Paper Rosette die.

Hi Everyone,

Back with another I Am Roses project!

I wanted to create a card for an awesome friend and decided to make a "Just Because" card. I love the idea of suprising someone "just because". I have been really liking The Greeting Farm Miss Anya sets of stamps, they are super easy to color and super cute.

Here I wanted to mix a citrus color with a neutral (I'm just SO into color these days). Also, wanted to bust out my new bottle of Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Stain in Dark Chocolate Truffle. Love this color, it is very deep, rich and the perfect shade of luscious brown. I used it to paint the petals of the I Am Roses Puffy Daisies.

Ooh La La Paris Wish Box for Jadedstudios Secret Squirrel Swap

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to share a few pics of the items I made for the "infamous" Jadedstudios Secret Squirrel Cigar Box Swap. I broke into my paper stash and decided to use the Making Memories Paper Reverie line in "Noir" - its such an awesome versatile black and creme line - love the patterns too, houndstooth, damask, ledger...totally up my alley. I love how all my projects match, such a super fun swap, go check Jade out, she is the BESTEST!

"Sending Warm Fuzzies" Greeting Farm Card

I wanted to create a card showcasing the new sprays - the short sprays come in four fabulous colors and have an expresso brown stem. These sprays reminded me of autumn and I was dying to use a mustard/khaki color combo. The white spray and expresso stem worked perfect for the look I was trying to achieve, I love the brown leaves - I can't wait to use the other colors! I accentuated the autumn look with trim that reminded me of fall sweaters. I finished off the card using small roses in the 0.75 and 1 inch sizes - I love these and how they matched the card perfectly. Hope you enjoy the completed card!

Decorated Wooden Clothespin Holders for Lace & Trim - I Am Roses Project

Today, I wanted to share a super fun and easy project using dollar wooden clothespins, some gorgeous lace and trim, and of course some of my favorite I Am Roses flowers. These would be great to share with friends or to include a little extra goodies in all the different swaps we all participate in, they are almost too pretty to use!!

The clothespins were lightly painted with some acrylic paint and stamped with some of my favorite stamps, wrap lace around the spools (I like to be color coordinated and themed, for the samples I prepared today, I made a red and black set as well as a super uber cute shabby chic set) and tuck in some I Am Roses flowers for that finishing touch.

I love seam binding, and I love using it to make handmade flowers. I have been making alot of these because they are super easy and super fun to make. I have been experimenting with different flower centers, pearls, metal accents, etc..I thought using I Am Roses flowers would be the perfect finishing touch, I have to say I HEART how these came out.

I Am Roses Project 4 - Cards Greeting Farm Princesses!

I love using I Am Roses to accent my cards, I made three Greeting Farm Princess Collection cards using some of my favorite I Am Roses flowers:

I also challenged myself to practice my copic coloring on brown hair, the three copic markers I used to achieve the brown hair look on my cards were E74, E77, E79. I'm finding out the best way to learn how to color is to practice and be patient, for me I've learned that you have to wait for your image to dry to see the final result.

The stamps I used are from The Greeting Farm - these are super fun to color and practice hair with, also the dresses are super easy to paper peice and layer with.

I Am Roses - Matching Gift Box & Card

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for all your sweet comments on my I Am Roses videos - I have been having a blast making projects with these YUMMY flowers.

I needed to put together a graduation gift for a friend who was graduating with her Masters! I wanted to create a matching gift box and card to match her over the top personality. I know she loves to save everything so I wanted to create a functional and practical box. I made the decoration removable and reusable by attaching the roses and trims to a thick black ribbon which can be adhered together with a small piece of velco attached to the ends - super easy! This would also make a great belly band for a card as well.

Alrighty, long overdue but finally here are some pictures of the World of Warcraft treasure chest I made the hubby for his birthday. He really likes it, for reals. ..I just love this color combo!! I've been experimenting with lots of colors lately but truly this is my favorite combo, I was reminded of this at a recent lunchtime trip to Forever 21, I like to check out the jewelry section, they always have some some cute and inspiring stuff!

Look how fab the decor is...

and look at these super cute bracelets, i held back on getting the black, but i may have to go back, planning on taking these apart and using these awesome pieces for something Teresa Collins-ish!

also had to peek into the cupcake store - i just love cupcakes!!

...and now for some Inspiration...

So to kick off this FABULOUS contest I wanted to share my "inspiration piece" for ya! I wanted to create a small trinket box so I used this circular wooden box from Michaels. I finished the inside and bottom with Folk Art Vintage White Paint, covered the top and sides of the box with K&Co Julianne paper, and used adhesive pearls to line the top of the box. Also, used some of my favorite I Am Roses flowers and accented them with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist:

I Am Roses - My first DT Project! Metallic Flowers!

I had a fun time creating this altered box using Crate Paper "Portrait" collection.

Loved the floral paper and wanted to recreate the lotus flowers using I Am Roses Gardenias and Rosebuds.

I am also super obsessed with the Folk Art Metallic paints, mix with lots of water and you get a gorgeous sparkley medium for coloring your flowers! - Great price too!

Flowers and BBQ Pork?!

Just a quickie update!!!! My poor neglected blog!!! I'm so excited for many things this month and one of those things is I will be part of the I Am Roses Design Team. I can't wait to start and get the creative juices flowing. I have links to the other Fabulous Design Team members on the sidebar as well as a link to the I Am Roses website. Giddy.

Also, wanted to share one of my favorite restaurants, love this place. We always order the same thing. Chinese BBQ Pork, Fried Rice Thai Style with Shrimp, Won Ton Soup with noodle, Chow Mein Chicken - with crispy noodles. Its the best, there are other fabulous dishes, but I don't know what to order!!! This is a great restaurant and it is ALWAYS packed. So, lemme know if there are any other fab Chinese dishes to try. OH and I forgot on special occasions we get the Honey Walnut Shrimp - mmmmm, it is decadent and it is almost like a dessert!

Crazy Busy!

I've been super super extremely extremely crazy busy!
I can't believe we are fully in 2011 mode! As a matter of fact its February and Valentines is around the corner! Can't let this year pass me buy, lots of projects up ahead - scrappy and house cleaning related.

I've been finding time here and there between my crazy busy life to create. I am so loving all the awesome products out there and really heart my scrappy Youtube friends that share their ideas and awesome finds!

Tis the Season

Dood...

I've been busy busy busy

Been sick, getting better, finally.

Been working, hard.

Been cleaning my "scrap" room, its a never ending process, seriously.

Also been still loving copic markers and paper piecing, tried my hand at making some cards, its fun, i can see why people love it so much, so i took the Sizzix Frames a break and made these cards, i like making these small projects because i've been focusing on PHOTO organization. i want to start making 12x12 layouts so that is why i've been organizing photos and getting the scraproom in order, in between i like making tiny things here and there, the cleaning gets...monotonous.

i like buying 6x6 paper pads for paper piecing they are super cheap and the proportion of the design fits well with the size of the greeting farm stamps, i get my 6x6 paper pads at yourscrapbooksupply.com they are always on sale and for as low as 3 dollars and some change, i love this place, its my go-to for great priced scrappy supplies, also love the free shipping when you pay $50 dollars deal, so awesome.

Been really loving sizzix dies...enough said there, use them all the time, my cutting plates are a HOT MESS

so here are my projects, one is my Greeting Farm one using Geisha Anya and the paper from the 6x6 Websters Pages Wonderfall/Hollywood Vogue pack, The other one is using a Sarah Kay stamp with paper using the same stack, it is such a sweet image, highlighted it with diamond stickles, oh so fabulous, the diamond stickles reflects the color its on top of. i forever love my copic markers, this image was so easy to color, so FUN, also used some midori ribbon i've been HOARDING, its FABULOUS, also broke out the nesties, another addicting love

Had an awesome time creating custom flowers using iamroses 1.5 inch flowers and Tim Holtz Distress ink in Stormy Sky and Antique Linen

I cant stop making these! Carlene (pinkscrapper99) on YouTube gave me this adorable kit that included the Whoo-ligans paper by BoBunny. Thrilled to recieve this because I didnt purchase any Halloween stuff this year. (LOL I purchased other stuff....Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology). Had to find something to do that was relaxing and brainless so I paper peiced and big shotted, pretty fun, I am also doing a new thing to jazz up my paper peicing...adding Glossy Accents!! Here's what I made using the Sweet & Toxic set by The Greeting Farm!

i have been using this sizzix die like mad, this was a random clearance die that turned into one of my faves!
i also heart iron man, i added a little red jelly heart to edward's chest, inspired by iron man and the ARC reactor, yup i'm still watching iron man every night LOL

More Paper Piecing with The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Stamps!

Still obsessed with paper piecing I really love the look of it!
and its super fun to do while watching tv...or a movie....or...like let's say while your watching Iron Man!

I specifically bought some 6x6 paper pads for this purpose, they are the perfect size for paper piecing and there is very little waste. No guilt cutting up a 12x12!

For this grouping I used:

Color Inspiration: Iron Man

I am completely obsessed with Iron Man...

I don't watch a lot of movies or TV (EXCEPT for Gray's Anatomy & Project Runway).
One night hubby was was watching Iron Man...I watched and HELLO I'm hooked, totally hooked...

I got this CUTE little action figure, the helmet flips up to reveal the face of Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.).

Its...adorable.

I used the Gold/Red combo as color inspiration for this Greeting Farm stamp: Cheeky Rockabilly
I didn't have the black hair copic markers when I first got this stamp, but now that I do, it was super fun to see what I could do with the hair - Black Hair is my fave hair color!

Meatballs, IKEA, & Digital Brushes

So went to IKEA and found this amazing frame (Click Here), didn't end up buying it because it was EXTRA LARGE, awesome but way too big!

I was on the HUNT for some storage solutions, but no luck this time :(

Had the Swedish Meatballs for the first time, they were only $3.99 a plate and they were so super yummy, it came with meatballs, gravy, mashies, and lingonberry jam on the side. Sooooo worth it, here's a pic, also experimented with my House of 3 digital brushes and some Ali Edwards digital brushes, kinda fun. This was a quick test run, hope to do MORE digital brush projects...

LATEST OBSESSION: Copics and Greeting Farm

Here's a little secret from a Copic Newbie...coloring black hair whether you use the cool (C9, C7, C5, C3)or warm (W9, W7, W5, W3) grays is FAR MUCH EASIER to do than any other colored hair..WHY? because those ARE the colors you use (well those are the ones I use) - with the other colored hair there are so many color combos. what to chose? what to chose? Brown Hair is my nemesis...have not mastered it yet... Anyhoo, this image was slightly DRAMA, I'll list the colors that I used but DISCLAIMER, these aren't the colors that you necessarily should use, but more the colors I have in my stash, and most of the time I cover up boo-boos with other colors so there you go, here is the list of the "madness"
